Oahu Real Estate - Chapter 1 -Seeking Your Piece Of Paradise
Market conditions change and you will hear a multitude of advice from numerous sources as to when the right time is to invest in Real Estate.
I have a secret, the right time to invest is when you are prepared, when your circumstances prompt you to relocate, and when it is in the best interest for your family. Shhhhhhhhhhh....
Home Ownership is a commitment, it is a cornerstone of preparation for your future. Whether a primary or second home, in depth self assessment paired with market research are vital to positive results.
Ask yourself some questions:
1) How does the location of your home support your personal, financial, and family goals?
2) What does your vision of the future hold for your family, will the household be growing or shrinking in the number of occupants, and how will this affect your needs for living space?
3) What is the minimum number of years you expect to reside in your new home?
4) If you are seeking a second home, do you plan to rent it and if so; what would be the minimum acceptable level of income as a percentage of your overhead costs?
"Dream Homes" should stay there...
Is your home or the home you are seeking, in sync with your daily routine? Does it serve you well through it's proximity to what you do, where you do it, with who you do it, and when you do it?
A home that may have the best location as defined by market trends, would not be the best choice for you if it is to far removed from where you work and where you and your families activities take place.
Giant kitchens and formal dining areas for those who don't often cook or entertain, sprawling lawns when yard work is by no means exciting to you, rental properties where the tenant laws tie your hands beyond reason; the dream can fade quickly.
Seek your Piece of Paradise!
Define what is important to you and your family, disregard the latest hot topic or amenity, ensure where your home is located, is where your living take place.
More to come, and thoughts are appreciated.
Sincerely,
Anthony Freda, CHA
